ADVANCED WILDERNESS LIFE SUPPORT® COURSE
CAYE CAULKER, BELIZE
Caye Caulker, Belize
Turquoise water, white sand, friendly locals and the spirit of relaxation define the idyllic Caye Caulker, Belize. With the Belize Barrier Reef, the second largest on the planet, just a quarter mile off shore, the snorkeling, diving, and sport fishing are some of the best in the world. Caye Caulker's motto? "Go slow".
Accommodation: Details to be announced Spring 2016.
Travel: The nearest international airport is located in Belize City. Caye Caulker has a small airstrip serviced by Tropic Air and Maya Island Air, and can be reached by plane from Belize City (International) in about 15 minutes (beautiful and inexpensive flight). You could also land in Belize City, take a cab to the ferry (about 30 minutes) and then take the ferry to the island (about 30 minutes). Either way, that travel portion is amazing and picturesque.
Pre-conference PADI Rescue Diver Course: Details TBA
The Wilderness Medical Society designates this educational activity for a maximum of 20.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.
Need Ideas for Travel? We've been there a few times and have identified these trusted sources:
Absolute Belize: This is the all inclusive vacation package planner that you want on your team. Luxury, adventure, yacht charters, whatever. They are meticulous and detail oriented so that you don't have to be- we have nothing but amazing things to say about them. Tell Rachael we said hi.
Belize Sailing Vacations: You should do this. You should totally do this. BSV's Caribbean catamaran cruise is easily the most amazing way to experience Belize. Delicious food, unreal staff. And the activities? I enjoy waking up to coffee, fruit, and lobster; snorkelling through the coral reefs, kayaking to a deserted island, maybe spear fishing before the breeze picks up and the sails are set... that's before lunch. These trips are impressive.
