Grant Proposal Writer

Description

  • The Grant Proposal Writer will work to identify prospective funding for the organization and submit proposals for funding. The Grant Proposal Writer primarily seeks out and applies for one-time or annual grants from external agencies. This is a part-time (approximately 5-10 hours per week), volunteer position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and research grant funding opportunities.

  • Write, submit and manage grant proposals

  • Maintain proficient knowledge of organization’s history and programs.

  • Furnish prospective funders with supporting documents.

  • Report on all opportunities applied for and provide status updates.

  • Maintain records through Backcountry Medical Guides  and external grant agency databases.

  • Cultivate on-going relationships with grant foundations.

  • Track and maintain all records regarding incentive compensation in coordination with the Treasurer.

  • Cultivate and secure local, state and federal grants and other additional government funding.

  • Devote at least 5 hours weekly to grant writing responsibilities.

  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Skill Requirements

  • 2+ years of grant proposal writing experience

  • Expert writing skills
