WILDERNESS FIRST RESPONDER - REFRESHER
The Wilderness First Responder-Refresher (WFR-R) program is a recertification course for those who hold a current WFR certification. It is considered a standard for renewing expedition leaders, guides, outdoor professionals, and backcountry enthusiasts.
WFA: Wilderness First Aid Program
If WFR-R Only course dates don’t work for you, you may join a Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course. We include opportunities for advanced scenarios for our WFR-R folks while keeping the curriculum accessible to all.
WFA/WFR-R: Mountain Biking Programs
WFR-R: Sailing Programs
We offer WFR-R Maritime Programs through Maritime Medical Guides, the seafaring branch of Backcountry Medical Guides. Class offerings include internationally recognized and accredited courses in Advanced CPR/First Aid For Mariners which qualify for a Wilderness First Responder-Refresher for those holding a current WFR Certification or within 1 year of expiration.
This Bellingham-based program is designed for Wilderness First Responders who need to recertify and whose WFR certification is still within the one‑year grace period. Refresh your WFR certification with day hikes through beautiful Larrabee State Park; home to Douglas Fir forests, gorgeous Salish Sea coastline, and expansive views of the San Juan Islands!
If these dates do not work for you, join one of our Wilderness First Aid courses and receive WFR recertification.
