CURRICULUM:

CPR

Assessment, Compressions, Airway, Breathing, AED's, Child/Infant CPR, and Choking. We apply these principles to common wilderness situations: Hypothermia, Avalanche, Drowning, and Lightning.

Patient Assessment

The patient assessment system is a vital concept for all prehospital emergencies and is universal- be it climbing, biking, running, or just out for a walk.

Trauma

Go in depth into different kinds of traumatic injuries and how to treat them. From a minor scrape to a complicated fracture; cover how to clean, bandage, and keep it protected. 

Medical Problems

Some of the hardest things to treat can be the ones you cannot see, but if you know some of the signs and symptoms you can still make a big difference in a treatment plan. Heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, seizures, ect… 

Environmental 

The beautiful places in the wilderness are what makes our time in nature fulfilling, but are also unpredictable. Learn how to prevent and treat different environmental emergencies such as hypothermia or getting struck by lightning.


CERTIFICATIONS: 

You will receive a Certificate of Completion for “Wilderness Medicine Online” after successful completion of the course. The content in our online program is a component of our Wilderness First Aid, Wilderness First Responder Refresher, and Wilderness First Responder trainings.
