


Adventure RX Series (All 4 Sessions)
Whatcom County EMS and Backcountry Medical Guides (BMG), will launch Adventure Rx—a quarterly, theme-based event series offering dynamic, scenario-based field training for healthcare professionals, first responders, and wilderness-savvy community members.
Each event highlights a different seasonal terrain and patient care challenge:
Fall: Wilderness rescue & prolonged care scenarios
Winter: Backcountry ski accidents & avalanche first response
Spring: Mountain bike trauma & remote ortho management
Summer: Marine rescue & hypothermia emergencies

Audience
Primary: In hospital staff: RN, PA, MD, Field: EMS personnel, ski patrol, SAR teams
Secondary: Outdoor professionals, guides, educators, and engaged laypeople
Format
Frequency: Once per quarter
Duration: Half-day (4 hrs) or Full-day (8 hrs) depending on season and content
Location: Rotating field sites in/around Bellingham: Galbraith, Squalicum Harbor,
Larrabee State Park, and Mt. Baker.
CE Accreditation
CAPCE/WA DOH CE and optional CME for MD/PA via partnership with local hospitals or BMG CME sponsor
