Each session is designed to deliver immersive, seasonally relevant, field-based medical training for healthcare providers and outdoor professionals/enthusiasts. The curriculum combines thought-provoking lectures with scenario-based skills practice to strengthen community capacity and professional development in austere environments.

Dive into marine-focused field medicine on the edge of Bellingham Bay. This full-day training is designed for healthcare professionals, rescue personnel, and maritime adventurers preparing to respond when emergencies strike on the water.

Morning sessions include case-driven lectures by EMS, SAR, and maritime medical experts. Afternoon fieldwork takes place on docks, beach zones, and floating platforms—where you'll rotate through hands-on skills stations simulating real-world marine rescues.

    • Cold water immersion & hypothermia

    • Marine trauma, drowning, and patient prioritization

    • Maritime evacuation planning & coordination

    • CPR & AED on water: dockside and vessel-based response

    • VHF marine radio simulations (MAYDAY & PAN-PAN formats)

    • Hypothermia rewarming strategies in resource-limited settings

    • Patient packaging & extraction on unstable surfaces

    • EMTs, Paramedics, RNs, PAs, MDs

    • Fire/Rescue personnel and SAR members

    • Maritime guides, instructors, and experienced mariners

    • Outdoor professionals or healthcare providers working near water

  • Live scenario facilitation by veteran medics & maritime responders

    CE/CME certificate for eligible participants

    Use of marine gear, radios, CPR mannequins, and simulation setups
