ADVANCED WILDERNESS LIFE SUPPORT
MARITIME MEDICINE

Combining a highly experiential (16 hour) in-person training with our self-paced (4-6 hour) Maritime Medicine Online course, this program provides all the skills practice and knowledge needed to handle a range of medical and traumatic emergencies at sea. This class is US Sailing accredited, meets World Sailing Offshore Special Regulation (OSR 6.05) Medical Training requirements, US Sailing Senior First Aid Requirements, is valid for US Coast Guard Merchant Mariner credentials, and can be used to recertify a Wilderness First Responder certificate within its grace period.

• Format: 2 in-person 8-hour sessions, broken up with lunch breaks, plus 4-6 hour online component

WILDERNESS FIRST RESPONDER
Five days of wilderness medicine training at Big Creek Reserve in Big Sur, CA. Coastal redwoods, rugged canyons, and instructors who know this coastline. Complete self-paced online coursework before you arrive, then spend the week in the field. You leave with WFR, CPR, AED, and EpiPen certifications and the skills to back them up.
Five days of wilderness medicine training at Larrabee State Park on the Pacific Northwest coast. Old-growth forest, Salish Sea shoreline, and instructors who know the terrain. Complete self-paced online coursework before you arrive, then spend the week in the field. You leave with WFR, CPR, AED, and EpiPen certifications and the skills to back them up.
With Mt. Rainier, the North Cascades, and the Olympics on the horizon, Seattle is surrounded by world-class mountain adventures. For those who take advantage of the Emerald City’s epic surroundings, be that day hikes or week-long climbing trips, we’re excited to be partnering with the University of Washington to offer a Wilderness First Responder (WFR) course for the Seattle adventure community.
